Philly women named IWLCA All-American

    The third teams features Penn’s Tarah Kirnan and Melissa Lehman. Tirnan, a senior defender, was second on the Quakers both in groundballs (33) and caused turnovers (25). Lehman is a senior attacker, was second on the team with 33 goals.
    They were joined by George Mason senior attacker Laura King (Springfield-Delco), Temple senior midfielder Whitney Richards and Duke freshman midfielder Emma Hamm (Baldwin School)
    King led George Mason in scoring with 42 goals and 15 assists while Richards led the Atlantic 10 champion Owls in scoring with 46 goals and 32 assists. Hamm helped Duke to the Final Four, finishing with 31 goals and 21 assists.
Division II
    National champion West Chester placed three on the first team and two on the second team.
    Senior attacker Stephanie Kienle (Henderson), junior attacker Jackie Baker (Penncrest) and sophomore defender Katy Crouse (Boyertown) made the first team while junior goalie Mary Beth Green (Henderson) and junior midfielder Courtney Whiting (Downingtown East) earned second-team honors. 
      Kienle, the only senior on a 20-1 team, led the nation in assists (78) and scoring (65 goals, 143 points), breaking the NCAA record for points in a single season. She finished with 389 points in her four-year career, smashing the NCAA all-time scoring mark in the process.
    Baker was second on the Rams in scoring and second in the nation in scoring with 126 points. Her 89 goals on the year led the nation and marked the third-highest single-season total in NCAA history.
    Crouse caused 48 turnovers this season, ranking fourth nationally with 2.29 caused turnovers per contest. The feisty defender was also averaged two groundballs per game. 
    Whiting tallied 47 goals and was second on the team with 56 groundballs. Green had a 6.83 goals against average and 178 saves.
    Also picked for the second team was Millersville sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Weekley (Pottstown) and Blomsburg freshman defender Ashley Bowers (Springfield-Delco). Weekley set a school record with 68 goals in only 15 games while Bowers led the Huskies with 51 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers.
Division III
    Franklin & Marshall, the national runner-up, placed junior attacker Jen Pritchard (Penncrest) on the first team, junior midfielder Shannon Summers (Hill School) on the second team and junior midfielder Ashley Bevington (Hill School) on the third team.
    Pritchard led the Diplomats with 71 goals while Summers was second on the team in scoring (35 goals, 49 assists, 84 points) and Bevington had 34 goals and 31 draw controls.
