Summerlin, Owls reach new heights with title

(CONTINUED)

“We beat everyone except Richmond, which beat us in overtime. But we went into A-10s knowing that if we played our game, we felt we’d definitely win.”
Summerlin, who recently was named to both the Atlantic 10 first-team all-Conference and All-Academic teams, said the Owls came together during the tournament.
“Every single person stepped up, it wasn’t just one or two people,” she said. “Everyone put in their work and was doing their part. We had a good game plan and we knew if we could make the other team play oru game, we could beat them.
“Everyone was on board and everyone was together.”
Summerlin plans to enter the field of public relations and eventually work in sports marketing.
“I love sports,” she said. “Not just lacrosse; I am a huge sports fan and I want to stay in the field of sports. It’s my true passion.”
