Final IWLCA/Under Armour National Poll for Division I Released
NCAA Champion Northwestern takes top spot in final poll in 2008
Northwestern, which won the 2008 NCAA Division I championship, was a unanimous selection for the top spot in the final poll for the 2008 season. Their opponent in the final game, Penn, was a unanimous selection for the No. 2 ranking. Duke, who upset two top-six teams en route to a semifinal berth, moved up from No. 12 to No. 3. The same 20 schools as appeared in the final regular season poll remained in the final poll, with William & Mary, who had received votes in that ranking, tied with Johns Hopkins for the final spot. Schools ranked 13-20 in the final regular season poll remained in their same spot for the final poll.
The ACC and the Ivy League both claim four teams in the polls. All four of the ACC schools rank in the top-9 with Duke leading the way at No. 3 with No. 5 Maryland, No. 6 Virginia and No. 9 UNC close behind. The Ivy League has two schools in the top-8 with No. 2 Penn and No. 8 Princeton while No. 14 Cornell and No. 17 Yale remain in the rankings. The American Lacrosse Conference and the Big East both have three teams in the poll. The ALC is led by top-ranked Northwestern and also includes No. 11 Vanderbilt and No. 20 Johns Hopkins. The Big East's three teams are all ranked in the top-12, starting with Syracuse at No. 4 and continuing with No. 10 Georgetown and No. 12 Notre Dame. The America East, the MPSF, and the CAA each have a pair of teams in the poll. The America East claims Boston University at No. 7 and is joined by No. 13 New Hampshire. The CAA's two schools are next to each other as Towson claims No. 15 and George Mason takes No. 16. The MPSF again has two ranked teams as Stanford remains in the No. 18 spot while Denver stays at No. 19.

Final IWLCA/Under Armour National Poll for Division II Released
West Chester claims top spot after winning national championship
The West Chester Golden Rams, the 2008 national champions, rose to the top spot in the final IWLCA/Under Armour poll, taking all ten first-place votes. C. W. Post, the national runner-up, rose to No. 2 while semifinalists Adelphi and Limestone tied for the No. 3 spot. The schools ranked five through nine remained the same, while Belmont Abbey returned to the top-10, just edging Southern New Hampshire.
The East Coast Conference has three schools in the poll, including No. 2. C. W. Post, No. 3 Adelphi, and No. 9 New Haven. Top-ranked West Chester is one of two PSAC schools in the poll, as the Golden Rams are joined by conference rival Lock Haven at No. 6. The Conference Carolinas conference also has two representatives, including No. 3 Limestone and No. 10 Belmont Abbey. Stonehill from the Northeast-10 remains at the No. 5 spot while independents Gannon (No. 7) and Mercyhurst (No. 8) also stay in the national rankings.
Conference alignments will change dramatically in 2009 as New Haven will join the Northeast-10 conference and Mercyhurst and Gannon will both compete in the PSAC.

Final IWLCA/Under Armour National Poll for Division III Released
NCAA Champion Hamilton rises to top of polls for first time in school history
The Hamilton Continentals, who won the first national title in school history, rose to the top spot in the final poll of the 2008 season after entering the tournament in the No. 4 ranking. Franklin & Marshall, their opponent in the title game, rises to No. 2 as the four semifinalists rank 1-4 in the final poll. Farleigh Dickinson University, Florham, enters the poll for the first time this season at No. 20.
The NESCAC continues to lead all conferences with five schools, including three in the top-10 with No. 6 Middlebury, No. 8 Colby and No. 10 Amherst. No. 12 Trinity and No. 19 Tufts also represent the NESCAC. The Centennial Conference and the Liberty League both claim three schools. The Liberty League has two top-10 schools in No. 1 Hamilton and No. 5 Union; No. 18 William Smith also stays in the poll. In the Centennial Conference, No. 2 Franklin & Marshall and No. 7 Gettysburg are in the top-seven, while No. 16 Dickinson also is in the rankings Three New Jersey schools that are independents are ranked this week with the addition of Farleigh Dickinson at No. 20 as TCNJ moves to No. 4, while Rowan improves to No. 17. The CAC claims both No. 3 Salisbury and No. 14 St. Mary's. Washington & Lee from the ODAC moves to No. 9 while Babson from the NEWMAC moves up to No. 11. Catholic from the Landmark Conference moves to No. 15 and Cortland from the SUNYAC moves up to No. 13.
